Prof. Evaristo Joseph Liwa (PhD), is the current Vice Chancellor of Ardhi University and Associate Professor in Geomatics (Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing) since 2014. He won the Fulbright Scholarship for PhD studies, in 2000 and graduated with a PhD in Oceanography and Coastal Sciences from Louisiana State University in USA 2006. He took his Masters degree at the University of Glasgow, Scotland – UK (M. App. Sci.) in Topographic Sciences in 1994 and Advanced Diploma in Land Surveying from Ardhi Institute, 1984.
He has experience in teaching and research on Geospatial governance, modelling, cadastral surveying, ecology and natural resources management. He has published a number of journal papers and has engaged into mentorship of academic staff. Prof. Liwa has held a number of Managerial positions at the University as Risk Management Coordinator, Director of Undergraduate Programs, Dean of School, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Planning, Finance and Administration and then VC. Professionally, he is a fully Registered Surveyor with the National Council of Professional Surveyors (NCPS – Tanzania).
